H.4624

Signed into law on May 21, 2024 by Governor McMaster, this law bans medically necessary gender-affirming care for transgender youth under 18, including puberty blockers, hormone therapy, and surgery. The bill also prohibits the use of public funds to cover the cost of transition-related healthcare for youth and adults. Additionally, it requires school administrators to inform transgender students' parents of their gender identity, potentially before they are ready to share.
